Life
I just returned to Oregon after spending 12 years in Austin Texas. I think I finally got the high tech start-up bug out of my system. Especially since so many of them fail gloriously. Nope not an engineer - that's my sister - me - Marketing. I have two that are successful. But the roller coaster just isn't that much fun anymore. So I as recruited away by a company in Corvallis...and so I came home.
I had no plans to live in Albany, but a lovely restored mid-century modern in the historic district caught my attention and held it. Plus the commute, what commute after living in Portland and Austin...I don't think there is anything they can throw at me here. Sometimes it would take 45 minutes to go the 7 miles home from work in Austin. From my house I can walk to the farmer...Expand for more
s market, downtown, coffee shops and a microbrewery and there is a built in dog door and a laundry shoot, I am a very happy camper.
So I returned to Oregon with one less cat, we had a coyote problem and my old cat was breakfast. But I have two schnauzers Bahbalou (Bob) he's almost 15 and doing well for an ancient dog and Popcorn (Poppy) a 3 year old charming little guys and Bob's cat Gracie, who has taken to living upstairs since the move.
And payback does happen and it can be good. With the death of my ex-busband - I reconnected as with one of the two boys I raised during my marriage. He was thrilled. And there is a little lady and a lovely wife added to the mix. As with Josh her father, I get to be her "mary". She has two grandmothers, so it's okay and less confusing.
