Hey, old friends & acquaintances!!
Yes, I too, survived those wild and crazy times of the late '60's & early 70's---hoping, through Classmates.com, that there is a way to once again, "connect" and share a memory or two, in our decrepit middle agedness!!
I have been a North Carolina resident for the last 23 years---after George and I married (Sept. 1976) and had our oldest daughter, Julie, in 1977--we moved down to the Sunny South, one of the first big waves to relocate to the Charlotte, NC metrolina area. Our two sons, Danny (almost 21) and Paul (18.5) were born in Charlotte--we moved to a small town 10 miles north, Mount Holly, in 1986.
I graduated from Southern Illinois Univ. in 1975 with a BS in Journalism, however, after over 10 years ...Expand for more
of being a full-time mom, I earned a Special Education certification, and am now teaching at a middle school in Charlotte.
Our daughter graduated from the University of NC system, and is currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Florida. Our oldest son is a junior at UNC; our youngest just started at Charlotte's community college.
I would love to hear from many of the Glenbard East, North, West ex-classmates & friends (anyone who worked at Adventureland in Addison 1969-1972); some of the College of DuPage "cohorts"; and, VERY IMPORTANTLY, ANYONE WHO MIGHT HAVE HEARD FROM ELIZABETH HOPKINSON, Class of 1970, Glenbard North High School, who then moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
