John's Story

After high school I settled into a quite life after marrying Candy Moore, who graduate a year behind us. We were married 8 1/2 years when she and our first unborn child died very unexpectedly in 1990. It was a long time before I was able to go out and face the world again. After being tired of being alone I met and married my present wife of more than 15 years, Mary. We met on a blind date, of all things. Mary and I have two children. A daughter named Michaila and a son named Andrew. Both are a delight to us and a constant source of entertainment. We now live in Youngsville NC (very close to Raleigh) and wouldn't change anything. I did go back to school (Akron) but didn't finish since living my life took over and the additional education was not necessary. I work for Square D, an electrical equipment manufacturing company, in their services division. Been ...Expand for more
with them since 1999. Work is good and travel isn't too bad. I started out at Controlled Power in Massillon (CPC) and was with them for 16 years before losing my mind and quitting to work for ABB (both manufacture and service electrical equipment.) Square D has been the best as I got out of Stark County and the skills I learned have been put to good use. Mary teaches at a local private school and keeps a database for Duke University. What would I change? Not too much. I have had some rough spots in the past but the present is just about what I would have expected from life. You know, the basics. A roof over my head, bills are paid and food in the cupboard. Mary, the kids and I can't complain too much, although we do. When I am home we try to do little things with each other, like "movie night", fishing, bicycle riding. Life has been good. Odd!, but good.
