Mary's Story
Started first grade at Middletown Elementary with Mrs. Hayes as my teacher when I was 5. Continued on all the way to 12 grade with many of the same classmates. Best friends with Cindy Twigg.
During school, I worked for my Dad, who owned Burtner's Meats, at his butcher shop and also at his booth at the Frederick Fair every year. When I got my drivers license, I worked at People's Drug Store at the FrederickTown Mall. There I became attracted to the profession of pharmacy because it looked easy and clean...anything did after working at a BUTCHER shop! So off I went to WVU and became a pharmacist. I lived in Charleston, WV, Boston, MA, Orlando, FL, Ft. Myers, FL, Annapolis, MD, Brunswick, GA and now The Villages, FL.

rate on traveling. I been all over the globe and have loved every adventure. Our most recent trips have been to Europe, Thailand, and China. As I type this, its the time of Covid in 2020 and I'm very sad that my latest trip to Peru was cancelled. But that has allowed me to focus on my sport of pickleball.
I met my husband playing pickleball and we play every day. I am considered the Pickleball Queen in The Villages where we have 208 pickleball courts now and 9 more being built. I became a certified referee, and a pickleball instructor. I run our monthly tournaments (and also play in them), and am a Facebook page administrator for two pickleball groups. Yep, addicted!.
I'm blessed with a wonderful husband, many friends, a very full life, and lots of happiness.
Loving life in Florida.
