Mary's Story

We (My husband Ron and I) left San Jose, CA for the NW Corvallis, Or (Home of the Oregon State Beavers!) in 1983. We love the Northwest!! Ron took a job with HP and saw them through the Golden years of Color Printing!! We have 4 children, 2 foster children and 7 Grandchildren. After working as a Medical Assistant, raising children and teaching voice I am happily retired. I have one 8 year old student who I dearly love teaching. Music remains a part of my life. We are Catholic and very involved with our Parish, St. Mary's here in Corvallis. We help with a group of Priests and Sisters from Argentina, The St. John Society and the Society of Mary. We love our small college town. It (when Covid is not around!!) is so great to beable to drive 3 minutes to a PAC 12 event. ctions are over. I LOVED highschool at Lincoln. The music department especially helped me in my professional decisions and gave me alot of Joy in my life at the time. Who remembers Bye Bye Birdie!!! I stayed in touch with our Vice Principal, Bonnie Thompson for 52 years now. She has been my friend, mentor and second mother. She now suffers from Alzheimers. If any of you would like to send her a card with your picture and a note of appreciation please message me and I will send you her current address. We actually named one of our daughters after her!! I have been off this site for a number of years. I was excited to find a few friends I went from kindergarten through 12th grade with!!! I am trying to find Virginia Valdez. If anyone knows how to contact her please let me know. Looking forward to hopefully some kind of 50th reunion barring covid issues!! I am hopeful. Hope all in the class of 1971 are doing well.
