Mary's Story
Well, where do I begin? I graduated when I was 17, and started working that summer. I had plans to attend a university in Tx., but I was not allowed to leave the valley. "TOO young, and not married" So I began my studies to be a 'nurse or teacher" at Pan American University. Soon after, the "soft-spoken, introvert" eloped. :) Not what was expected of me, at all! 5.5 years later, and after losing total contact with all my childhood and HS friends, I divorced. For the next five years, I struggled with my X, and raised my three children, all while working two full time jobs, and going to school 12-18 hours per semester. , then I met a funny "gringo". He brought me Dr. Peppers, and always hung around. So, I told him about my "package deal", and my "X from Hell", and he said, "I can handle that." We married in 2001, and we have been together ever since. I love Waco Hillbillies !!! A few years ago, I discovered the internet, and forums and chat rooms. Then face book, and I am slowly using technology more and more. I feel like I lived in a cave for those ten years before I met my hillbilly. Now here I am. Not the same, yet not different, just louder, and maybe a little meaner. Definitely sharper witted, and much more aware. I've seen so much, and yet nothing at all. Funny how life is. Well, that's my story "and I'm sticking to it". :)
