Mary's Story
I am from Port Charlotte, Florida. I am currently single. My schools included Charlotte High School from which I graduated in 1975. After which I married Harland Wilbur from the class of 1974. He was in the Navy at the time we married. We had our son Timothy. We parted ways a few years later. I then worked as a CNA in Michigan. Wanting more and seeking to provide better for my son Timothy I enlisted in the Air Force in 1978. I spent 7 years int the Air force and was stationed at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, Andersen AFB Guam and Grand Forks, AFB North Dakota. While in the service I had my second son Allyn. After I was discharged, I had my daughter Kathryn. I worked and lived for several years in Port Charlotte, Fort Myers and Punta Gorda as a CNA and then a Food Stamp caseworker
I left Florida and began attending Universiaty at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks in 1991. Later I transferred and attended Brigham Young University (Secondary Education, English, Political Science). Where I attained my Bachelor's degree and Teacher Certification. I taught High School English and all Middle School subjects.
My interests include Camping, Reading, Movies. Music she likes includes Meditation, Nature, Hank Williams Jr.. Writers she likes include Faye Kellerman, William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe John Flanagan, John Sanford. J.A. Jance, Piers Anthony, Robert Aspirin among many others. Movies she likes include Schindler's List, Star Wars, Serenity, Legion, Constantine, Stigmata, Season of the Witch and several others. TV shows she likes include Rizzoli & Isles, The Glades on A&E

More about me in a capsule:"I am a 54 year young woman who is starting to learn about the pleasures and treasures life has to offer especially friendship. I live in Arizona, USA. I am the mother of three wonderful children, my sons, Tim and Allyn and my daughter Kat. I have five beautiful grandchildren, my grandsons AJ and Mark and my granddaughters Renee, Miaka and Natasha. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ. It is a pretty area but I am originally from the Midwest I miss the green. photos to see pictures of my children and grandchildren. I was a secondary education teacher. My primary area was English with a back up of Political Science. I spent several years teaching in charter schools and most of my students were considered "at risk" children. Which really translates into they were a challenge for the mainstream education process. I really miss the classroom and the kids but reality has unfortunately take a big bite. I am currently struggling with PTSD issues related to Military Sexual Trauma endured during my seven years in the Air Force. I love to read everything I can get my hands on. I love watching movies either at the theater or at home. I usually like watching Sci Fi and Fantasy but will generally watch anything as long as it has some redeeming qualities. I sew period costumes for my daughter, granddaughter, self and others time permitting. I love creating beautiful things and spend a lot of time doing beaded jewelry or whatever else strikes my fancy. I am very straight-forward and honest person and this seems to intimidate most people but especially the guys. I think it is because I say exactly what is on my mind and don't take time to censure what I say. I am slow to trust but once given I will give the benefit of the doubt no matter the circumstances. I am not looking for any kind of relationship just friendship at the moment. I am busy working on healing myself and growing into the person I truly want to be so for now I am selfish with my time. i love meeting new people, talking and getting to know them and hopefully developing some sincere friendships. After all before you can have a more serious relationship you have to be friends preferably best friends first. I am not a religious person but I am very spiritual. To me religion equates to edifices and organizations. I don't believe I need either to have a spiritual relationship with the divine. This is often a deterrence for many as they feel you must have a religion to be spiritual. I believe that no one religion has all the answers and that each has something to contribute to the human equation. I am very accepting of the differences between people and find it difficult to understand those that fixate on differences to promote and justify hostile feelings. Well that is basically who I am so I hope those that have requested friendship still wish to be friends but I understand if you find you must depart. To those who are thinking they want friendship I welcome you.".
