School
My favorite teacher in HS was Karen Zimpel. She encouraged me to read aloud in homeroom and gave me science magazines to amuse myself with. Today, I love making presentations and lectoring in church. And I have an interesting career as a chemical engineer, so her 'pushing' paid off. I am amazed that she correctly anticipated what I would be good at.

Workplace
I worked for the US Army for 2 years as a Value Engineer, then for Con Edison for 10 years as a Chem. Engineer. Then I worked for 3 years as a tech. writer and 3 years as a Math and Science teacher. I then returned to Con Edison 2 years ago where I perform a mixture of mechanical and chemical engineering tasks.
