Mary's Story

Life Wow - where have the years gone. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I retired from a career teaching secondary math in May of 2018. I am divorced but it's not a bad thing. I have a wonderful group of friends in my life. This is a nice place to live. I get back to NY to visit often. College I had a non traditional college experience. When my second child started kindergarten in Fort Campbell Ky I started going to Austin Peay State University. I graduated from APSU with a two year degree in general studies. e house with the kids and come home with the kids. I was told that I needed a "real job" and so I finished my degree in Mathematics Education at Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville NC. I am glad that I did - I have a career that I love. It wasn't easy raising children and going to school but I did it. I have since gotten a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix (not online they actually have a branch here where you spend every Tuesday night from 6-10 for 14 months in class). Workplace I am retired now from teaching. Love this season of my life.

Retirement ceremony for my maternal grandfather Albert Michael Maher Sr July 22, 1964. Age 63. He dropped dead of a heart attack less than a month later 8/1/1964. Enjoy life people! Sometimes way too short
