Mary's Story
Life
Graduated from Auburn in 1989 with a degree in Secondary Ed. Taught junior high until I married Steven, then did temp work until I had my first child. I spent eight years as a "stay-at-home" mom with my two fantastic daughters, Laura and Anna. Laura is about to be an eighth-grader, and Anna will be entering sixth grade this Fall. Steven builds rockets in Decatur, and we will celebrate our sixteenth anniversary in August of 2006.
Workplace
My first job after Auburn was teaching seventh grade English in J...Expand for more
efferson county. After getting married in 1990, I went to work for Kelly Temporary Services as a technical writer. My children were born in 1992 and 1995, and I stayed home with them until the youngest was in school. I taught music at a local preschool for 3 years, and have also worked at an after-school care program. My most recent job is substitute teaching in the Madison County school system, and I hope to return to the classroom as a full-time teacher in the Fall of 2006.
