Mary Drennon:

CLASS OF 1978
Longview, TX

Mary's Story

I went into the USAF in the Fall after graduation. I met David in Wiichita Falsl at Tech school in 1979. We served together at Wilford Hall Medial Center at Lackland AFB. We married in 1980 and had son and daughter shortly thereafter. I was a stay at home mom for most of their early years. My husband got out of the USAF after 10 1/2 yrs service. We moved to Tulsa, OK area and settled down into civilian life. Did not stay still very long because, David was called into the preaching ministry in 1994. He did some evangelism and then pastored 1st churh in Disney, OK. We later moved to TX where he pastored a couple other churches. He is currently an on-call preacher for churches in need of an interum preacher during misc circumstances. I have been the Payroll and Benefits Administrator for Cambium Learning for 11 years in Dallas, TX. David and I just recently opened our own buisness, Dippin Daves Ice Cream Shoppe, in Forney TX near Dallas. We also now have 6 grandchildren and OH , MYwhat a Blessing they are! The years have gone by very fast and we praise God for all...Expand for more
the blessings He has bestowed on us and we look forward to the future for more opportunity to lift Him up in every cirmcumstance of our lives. MaryBeth "Latham" Drennon My hero is JESUS and my inspiration comes from the Holy Spirit and from God's Word. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Debbie McCabe, because of our kindred spirits made posible by the power of the Holy Spirit. She was one of my very best friends in High School. My biggest surprise in life is that God allowed me to learn to play the guitar and gave me a gift to write songs from my heart to praise the LORD using His Word. What I have learned from my kids and grandkids is that they are truly a gift from God to help to show us how great a love God has ffor and has showed toward us. My first job was at McDonalds in Longview, where I got paid very little... to I can't even remeber ( minimum wage back then. What I remember most about it is that it was very busy on Saturdays and we had to know all the prices by heart and add them in our head. No calculators and no cash register..
