Mary's Story
After graduation, I went to business college, got married, had two sons, worked in various offices, taught beginning piano a for a short time, and in 1977 I began my career with the Washington State Department of Corrections in Monroe. I was administrative assistant to the superintendent (warden) and retired in 2002.
My most memorable and wonderful experience (so far) was a visit to my birthplace, Budapest, Hungary, in 1982, where all my relatives still live, except for immediate family.
What a beautiful place, great people and super good food.
Not as exciting, but still fun was winning a trip to Hawaii a few years back.

the present now, I love retirement! My husband, Jim, and I travel when we can - he still works -and has many hobbies - gold mining, glass blowing, Bowen therapy, and more, and I cheer him on. I enjoy my family- my sons and one grandchild, Danny, my brother and his family. I learned to cook Hungarian food from my mother years ago, have gotten pretty good at it, except for desserts - I didn't get around to learning those while my mom was still with us. I really like cooking now that I have time.
I have enjoyed volunteer work in a local grade school, but now I'm retired from that too. I like to putter around and make my own agenda.
