Mary's Story
Hello Classmates!
You may or may not remember, I was married, while still in school, to Terry Wood. We stayed married for 20 years. Terry and are still best friends today. Terry and his wife Tina visit me in Oklahoma from time to time. We had two kids, both have their own families now. I am grandma to 4 kids, and have 1 great grandchild. It makes me feel old to write that, but I don't feel old.
I am still working at Boeing Military Aircraft in Wichita, Ks. I've done some traveling for my job, international and in the states, and I find I'm really more of a home body. Glad for the experiences, but prefer to be home. Update to this story, now that Boeing has announced they will close the Wichita plant, I'll have to decide what I want to do, moving will be in my near future. Time to be closer to family, take Boeing retirement perhaps, and find another job.
I am single, and LOVIN LIFE!!
I have a little piece of heaven in Oklahoma that I call home now. I have two horses, 2...Expand for more
dogs and a barn full of cats, all yellow and appropriately named "yellow kitty". We (all my 4 legged kids and I) are all feeling the effects of getting older. One horse takes medicine daily, plus I give him a pain shot once a month. The outside dog is losing use of his back legs, is probably looking at being put down this week or next. Just found out my little inside dog had a stroke which makes her tilt her head to one side.. She also has cataracts in both eyes.
Looking at her makes me sad, we'll see how her quality of life is for a while, but I won't let her suffer.
Well that all sounded depressing!
Actually, most of my life I think is awesome. I have something to be grateful for every day, I think I'm pretty lucky.
My little sister Georgianna is married and lives in Andover. My how that town has changed since we went to school! Oldest sister Judy lives in Hutchinson, and second oldest sister lives in Chicago.
