Mary's Story
Life
Most of my life after graduating from Charleston Southern University was spent raising children and picking up part-time jobs teaching at my kid's pre-school. Once my oldest children finished preschool in New Jersey where we were living for the first 13 years of our married life, I began a piano teaching business in my home. I have been teaching 19 years now! Hard to believe. Upon moving to Raleigh, NC in 1990, I again started a piano teaching busines PLUS a decorating business within my home. I traveled to the High Point Furniture and Accessories Market two times per year. We moved to Blythewood in 1995 when my husband lost his job and then found one in Columbia. In 2001, my husband lost his job again and this time was unable to find one in his profession, so had to move to Charleston to work for my bro...Expand for more
ther for a fraction of what he and we were used to.Life has been hard and good at the same time. God is good all the time and I stand on that every day of my life. The Lord blessed us with our 3rd child when I was 36 and Jonathan has been such a blessing and joy to us. He has had to walk through these difficult times with us and he has seen the goodness of the Lord with us. Currently I still teach, and I am helping with my parents some each week as they are in their later 70's. I justt received my certification in Interior Design from Midlands Tech and I was too proud of myself for being able to fulfill a dream. I hope to use this for family and friends and perhaps have a business in this one day on a limited basis. I want to make myself available to help with the folks whenever needed. There is no higher call.
