Mary's Story

Life If you are from My. Prospect I'm Patrick Nee's wife. I have been living in Madison for over almost 30 years now. I still visit Green Bay monthly to visit my Mom, sister, Linda and brother Dennis. My other brother Paul lives near Milwaukee. I have been happily married on 2/20/93 to Patrick Nee . We were fixed up on a blind date on Halloween 25 years ago. We are each other's best friend and soulmate. We love to travel, Mexico and the Carribean and own a time share in Nuevo Vallarta. We've been doing things off our "dream list" such as whale watching in Cabo San Lucas and Nuevo Vallarta, snorkling in Jamaica, horseback riding on the beach, visiting and climbing Mayan ruins and my dream in 2011 I swam with the dolphins for 2 hours.. 03/09 we went to Costa Rica for another dream trip that will included a jungle canopy climb, no more fear of heights. We are both very excited about this trip too! We dream of touring Europe in the future. My hobby of photography plays into all our vacations. 0n 2/20/2013 we renewed our vows on our 20th anniversary on a beach in Mexico. That pic is from such a special day, we both were so happy and it continues, I love to snorkle and used to scuba dive till my ears couldn't take it anymore. The best dive was the shark dive in Cancun, no cages, and I saw one 20' Thresher and a 7' lemon shark. I can still snorkle and we go to Mexixo for that every other year or some other place on the Mayan Riviera. Patrick loves to read in the shade and visit with folks, a non-swimmer but loved whale watching. I no longer work for Dane County Human Services for 20 years now, and a total of 25 years of civil service between here and GB. I loved my job but was compelled to disable out on 6/4/11 after my doctor advised me to do it 3 times in 20 months. Giving up a career that was not just a job but a vocation was the hardest career move in my life. Patrick is a mail carrier and coordinator for the NALC south central region annual food drive. He was born in California, moved to Mt. Prospect IL and graduated with a double major in finance and economics from NIU. He uses his degree to handle our finances. We both are extremely interested in politics on the local and national leve...Expand for more
l. We have two sons: Kevin age 40, Married 14 years to Jessica, and , they met at his high school gradutaion party here at our home and now also are living in Madison. Kevin is a professional journeyman 2 painter and Jessica is a geriatric social worker. Erik, age 42, works as a load coordinator, now but when at Schneider Intl. is where he met Jennifer Van Rens when they were both in customer service and are now married He has two children, Derek age 19 and Elizabeth Ann age 17 and lives in Green Bay. Erik married Jennifer at St Mary's in E. DePere 10/25/08 and the reception was at the Swan Club a true GB wedding. Fr. Dane Redecki a family friend performed the ceremony. We now have our 3rd grandchild, Kaleb, boy and Kevin's son, on 10/08/2015, this child will live in Madison. It will be great having him in town. I'll be doing baby-sitting one day a week to keep child care costs down. I never knew what fun being a grandmother can be....I get to act like a kid again. I've vowed that I may grow old on the outside but will try my best to stay as Bryan Adams says "18 till I die" We have a 7 year old mini daschound and a 8 year doxie/corgi mix too. They are Scout and Quinn, between training and their antics they keep us busy and laughing. On 8/8/12 we adopted, Lillith, aka Lilli a dilute point siamese and a hoot! Patrick named Scout Jean Marie Finch. Since Dylan was named for a poet he decieded to name her after our favorite book/movie charater from "To Kill A Mockingbird" Now that the nest is empty all of them added lot's of fun to our home. This is our first non-rescued puppy in over 20 years. In 01/09 we adopted Quin. He was badly abused by his former owners and took a lot of patience and mostly love to heal him. Now he's a happy little guy and greets everyone with a wagging tail and looks people in the eye. He's become a great but reserved dog. Our son's call him: The Little Dude. I volunteer weekly at Olbrich Gardens in the Boeltz conservatory as a docent. My life revolves mostly now around my family, Pat and I traveling for vacations, church, volunteering at Olbrich Gardens, indulging in gardening, and photography. We lead a day to day quiet simple life, too busy saving for vacations.
