My husband Ken and I lived for 30 years in the San Francisco Bay area, where we raised our son and daughter. Our most productive and happy work years were also part of our city-by-the-bay experience. Ken was an IT Project Mgr. for UAL (so lots of travel to visit Ken's family in New Zealand and Australia); while I found my niche working as a Retail Loss Prevention Investigator and later, District Supervisor. Retirement finds us living in the Sonora Desert, 25 miles South of Phoenix (and our daughter's family, which now includes 2 dearly loved grandsons)! We've settled down in the city of Maricopa, AZ; not to be confused with Maricopa County, known for having "the Toughest Sheriff in America," Joe Arpaio, with his pink tent city. Inmates are particularly reluctant to return there. I'll insert info. about post-high school education out of order, as it happened "out of order," compared to ideal scholastic planning. For me, though, the timing was perfect. I studied at San Mateo and Skyline Community Colleges, aligning coursework with career building.
