Mary's Story
Mike and I will be married 43 years February 8th.
We have 4 children and 8 grandchildren.
Mike is retired from John Deere and is now running a long distance personal transportation
business. He takes people to airports, out of town hospitals and he has driven people to
Arizona, Florida, New Mexico and South Dakota. He will go anywhere.
I stayed at home and raised our kids for 21 years and then worked in the school system as a

business from a woman moving to Texas. I keep talking about retiring, but can't imagine
not working, at least for now. We both love going to work and have some freedom since we work
for ourselves.
Mike and I like to travel. We also take drives to visit our children. Three of them are 3 hours
away and our oldest with 5 children lives in Davenport.
We have lived in Dubuque our whole lives, but have traveled all over the United States and have
been to France where our daughter lived for 12 years.
