Mary's Story

I was in tailoring class with Mrs. Betty Greene as my teacher and oh how I loved that class. I created so many neat outfits and twice a year we had a style show. My boyfriends were Benny Roderick, John Higdon and can't remember the rest. Betty Munyon was my best friend along with Donna Mouser. My how time flies. I got married right out of high school to Betty Munyon's boy friend, Joe Costanzo and went on to give birth to eight beautiful children the hard way; one at a time. My husband of 43 years, Joe Costanzo passed on in 1997 to eternal life. My daughter. Victoria Reed had a brain tumor in 2003 and passed on 2004 leaving her husband, Dan and four children at the age of 48 years; I moved to Arlington, Texas in 2003 and make my home around the corner from my son John and his wife, Cherie and two beautiful daughters. Life is good because GOD is good and I thank HIM everyday. I remember my high school days with great love and affection. I always wanted to be a model when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I love to go shopping and to the movies. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have beautiful clothes, comfortable shoes, and lots of money to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My hero is Jesus. reat inspiration to me. I love to go to the football games, watching "I Love Lucy" on T.V. My dog was called "Stinker." I love Park Lane drive-in. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my kitchen and add on a storage shed. My dream home would be Spanish. I have learned patience, and love. If I won $100 million, I'd give ten percent of it to my church, then spend the rest on my children, grandchildren and friends. My current age is 77. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ancient. I was so completely wrong. I want to teach catachism and work for a hospice. My best friend would tell you I'm warm, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as stuck up. I do not dress my age however: I don't dress like a teenager either. I would love to have a dress by Valentino. I share my home with Charlie, my youngest son and my adopted daughter Jackeya, which I find keeps me young. In 10 years, I hope to be solvant. I'm going to get there by trusting the good Lord. My oldest friend is Sherry. We were young wives and mothers in 1955. My first job was at Wolfe's, where I got paid one dollar to a doller and twenty five cents. What I remember most about it is I learned how to wrap gift packages. Attending a one room school house in the first grade whwn I was six years old, living in the country, four miles south of Booneville, Iowa.
