I live in San Diego, CA (Carlsbad, actually).
I love my job - I'm a Professor at a Community College where I teach Marketing and Advertising.
Prior to that, I worked in Biotech for 20 years and worked my way up from entry level position to Vice President. I discovered that I didn't LOVE being an Executive (ha ha ha... too much pressure!) Teaching is much better!

Why I moved to California
The weather! And the sense of "hip", "cool", "cutting edge" that is so prevalent here. I moved to LA after college in July ...Expand for more
1988. Then, I moved to San Diego in 1989 to work in biotech. There's a bunch of biotech down here and it served me well for ~16 years before I decided I was ready for a career change. Now, I have summers off (a great thing in San Diego with the sun, beach, desert - etc.) and during the school year, I get to hang out with young people. In some ways, it's SO different from when we were in school, and in other ways, exactly the same.
Rick (my husband) and I have a great, happy, simple life in Carlsbad (just north of San Diego.) Carlsbad is famous for Legoland, the La Costa Resort (where Tiger Woods plays) and strawberries. We recyle, have an organic garden, compost, use our rooftop solar power, drive a hybrid car, eat healhty, work out (a lot!) and generally enjoy life.
