Mary Ellen's Story
Life
After graduating from EHS, I went to community college for one year, then married fellow classmate, Larry Campbell, and we finished our last three years of college at SMS in Springfield. We spent the next 27 years going wherever the Army sent us and raising our three children. Larry retired in '95 and we returned to the Springfield area where we've been ever since. We live in the country with dogs, cats, goats, chickens and other fowl. Larry sells real estate and I volunteer at...Expand for more
the local zoo. We both enjoy what we do and our rural life. We also take a lot of time off to visit our three grandchildren, who give us great joy.
School
Who would have thought that someday we'd look back on Miss Johnson and her invisible pink poodle FiFi with fondness? And all those term papers for Miss Williams in Literature class senior year. Best high school memory for me is Vespers program each Christmas. They probably can't do such a blatantly religious program now.
