Mary's Story

Hi Classmates and Everybody Else: I hope, at least, most of you have had a pretty smooth ride to the 21st century. I did, the first 15 or so years, of my marriage, then bottom started crumbling out of my world. But, I really didn't know how bad it was until 2003.....DIVORCE! [1/14/03] That is all I have to say about that....... Now, for the good part. I have four absolutely wonderful children; all grown, two married, one divorcing, and one still single. *Robin and Brian Berry have a daughter, McKennah, 16. And a son, Micah, 12. Brian is a Gospel preacher and he and Robin have their own house cleaning / maintenance service in Edmond, Ok. *Gary Don Jr. has a daughter, Summer, 17 and a son, Nathan, 15.....Gary Don is in some 'computer business' that I don't understand and lives in Arkansas... My NASCAR guys!!! *Nicki and Nate Robnett don't have children yet....They are still working on his career; he has a Masters in Accounting, and want to go pretty much wth auditing. They both graduated from UCO in Edmond,OK. Nicki has her B.A. in Interior Design... They are going to be living in the Caymon Islands for the next two years of his training! Isn't that just aweful!!!! Ha! (they move in October,2008)... Don't worry they evacuate for hurricanes, :) The first ?QUESTION? Mom asked!!! [9-12-08 After this hurricane season I'm REALLY GLAD THEY DO!] *Kerry, my baby, is 24, single, and a computer Wizzard!!!! Gotta love 'em!!!! Lives in Arkansas with his dad...Another NASCAR fan and big LAKERS fan!!! Now, me, I'm single, not dating yet..... I've had some "real times" the last few years and out of that I found someone that I like....Myself! It took awhile but I finally know what I want out of life from this point on. I've learned many things and the song says it perfectly...." Don't Blink!!! " I live in Edmond, Ok and attend the Church of Christ in Edmond with my girls and their families. I am slightly disabled because of back problems and CFS... But that doesn't stop me from being the outgoing, fun loving, people-person I've always been..... Church, kids, grandkids, surfing the net, reading, IMing friends and family....Keeping up with my sister,[who lives in McAlester, OK]; Vonna and her family (she does geneology), and our mom, Colleen~80, in the Clarendon nursing home; keeps me pretty buzy.....Roger, my brother also lives in Clarendon, TX. Then I've made a few friends along the way that I talk to or see almost everyday or so... It's a good thing that I don't work! I would love to hear from any of you that I went to school with older/younger, married/not married, single/ single again......Breathing!!!! I really have missed my friends from school; I won't 'name names' for fear I'll leave someone out. I hope to hear from you soon............. Mary Murphy [aka:Crow and Wygal] P.S. I watch a lot of NBA Basketball, 'cause Kerry got me hooked on it when he was younger...I also watch Nascar because Gary Jr., Nathan and Kerry love it and I do too... it gives me something fun to chat about with my boys. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STORY WIZARD QUESTIONS: #30 Q. Share a chilhood memory you'll never forget. A. Square dancing with Ronnie Buck in first grade! LOL!!! Hi Ronnie!!!!! :) #29 Fill in the blanks: My first job was at the _"Dairy Mart"_, where I got paid _"I Don't remember"_ to _"Carhop"_. What I remember most about it is _"Meeting people and getting to visit with friends"_. #28...Expand for more
Q. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? A.That I have Kids Ages/38-24! And grandkids/17-12! #27 Q.Talk about your oldest friend - how you met and what made you click. A. Regina Hall was the friend I remember best, at a very young age, because she lived right behind me and we played together a lot...[Regina was the first person to invite me to the Church of Christ] There were many more; Jenny Bradford, Norma Hall, Illa Mullinex, Debra French, Debbie Trent, Laura Lewelleen, Susan Dunn and many others...... #26 Statement: In 10 years, I hope to be "with the husband God wants for me". I'm going to get there by " God's Grace, Wisdom, and Guidance"; if that is what His Will is for me... #25 Q. You get one do-over. What do you do differently? A. Finish High School with my class..... #24 Q. Got trophies? Share a big victory. A. I suppose the thing I am most proud of accomplishing; on my own, is my Certificate from the School of Biblical Studies in Denver, CO. It represents the hard work, study and ability to finish something that was very important to me. And the thing that has been the most benificial to me in living a Christian life. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~MORE LATER~~~~~~~~~~~~~ #23 Statement: I share my home with Happy, my sheltie-mix, which I find comforting and fun. She is 12 years old and was a rescue.....The most loving gentle dog you could imagine and smart as she can be! #22 Q. What's the weirdest job you ever had? A. Guess, I'd have to say cleaning other peoples toilets :{ #21 Q. Still dress like you did 10 (or20) years ago? Talk with a brogue? I still wear jeans and T-Shirts and have a combination of Texan, Okie, Iowan, Coloradan mixed up brogue! #20 My best friend would tell you I'm the same as always, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet & shy. #19 Q.What happened to your first crush? A. He got married and had kids....Still married...... #18 Q. Working hard? Reveal your aspirations....... A. I'm not sure what I want to be, "this time", when I grow up! I'm retired; so, I have lot's of free time.... Just want to stay in God's good Graces for the most part and see what happens.....I'm counting on Him to lead me in the direction He wants me to go. #17 My current age is 54. When I was 12, I thought that people my age, now, would be old. I was so completely right! Ha!. #16 To be truly happy, I would be with a gentleman who loves me for who I am; that, I feel the same way about and spending time doing whatever we want to do......{That's a tough one} #15 I never lived in a dorm. #14 If I won $100 million, I'd give 1/2 of it to the Bear Valley Institute;in Denver, CO, then spend the rest on church , charities and my family. #13 I would love to see Mrs. Louis Sally, my 5th grade teacher, because she taught me to believe in myself..... I'd like to thank her for that........ #12 Q. Parent? Share what you've learned from your kids........ A. Don't Blink!!!! Many, many things.....They are all precious in their own way and are so different, but yet a lot the same........I'm very blessed, in that, my kids are all very close as a family; that is very special to me........ #11 I love my new "One Bed Room" apartment in Guthrie, OK [just N.of Edmond]; but if I had a dream home, it would be a place where all my family could come at one time to Thanksgiving Dinner again! I'd be very happy in any home where "LOVE" abides. ~~~~~~~~~~~~MORE~LATER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
