Mary's Story
I was in Mildred McConkey's home room, and I had majors in science and math--for reasons best known to my mother. After I graduated from KCHS and the University of Michigan, I taught in high schools in Grand Rapids, and private schools in New Jersey, New York, and finally in Tulsa Oklahoma. Until 2001, I returned to Michigan for summers in South Haven. I've enjoyed raising standard poodles and showing them since 1979.

from Michigan (10/16) after a week with my old college roommate. Her grandson plays on the U-M football team, so, of course, we had to go to Homecoming and watch Michigan beat Illinois! I was shocked to see how expensive everything connected with athletics is! Our "complimentary" seats were $105! Kalamazoo has so changed in the last 16 years; no big surprise, but it makes me sad. But seeing old friends made it a wonderful experience.
