Mary's Story
Hi, everyone. After graduation from Parkin High, I went to ASU for one semester and then changed to a business school in Memphis. During this time, I met my future husband at the famous "Dairy Queen" in Parkin. Amazingly, I didn't like Ben at first, but he was insistent that I was going out with him on a Friday night. We opted out of the movie we had set out to see and went back to the Dairy Queen parking lot and visited with some of the folks from Parkin and some of the guys he worked with from Cotton Belt RR. Suddenly he swirled me around and kissed me...and oh what a kiss! (It made my toes tingle!!) With that first kiss, I knew I would be marrying the love of my life. d our family included our sons, Tim and Ben III (known to family and friends as Bubba). Tim lives in Marion and is Technology Coordinator for the Marion School District, is 6'4" tall and Bubba (deceased'98) was also tall at 6'2". Imagine little short me (5'1") having two tall sons!!! (my husband is 6'1"). The loss of Bubba was devastating for us, but HE is fine and happy in heaven and will see us again one day. We live outside of Stuttgart in the community of Casscoe. It is where my husband grew up and we have lots of hunting (deer; duck). I did return to ASU to graduate with an RN degree and now have retired after 28 yrs in nursing. Please send me some emails!
