Mary's Story
Life
After high school I worked in the medical field in medical billing, then moved on to become an Executive Asssitant to the CIO of all of the Sharp Hospitals in San Diego. I also was the lead female vocalist in a band in San Diego for 5 years. Todd and I married on Aug. 13, 1994 in San Diego at Balboa Park. WE had dated for 2 years prior to marriage. We moved to Temecula in 1994 and have lived there very since! We have owned 2 homes in Temecula and love it here in WINE COUNTRY. In 1998 we had our 1st son Trevor. He is a BIG boy like is Uncle Matt and Grandpa. He had to be taken c-section as he was almost 10lbs at birth! He is a very intelligent boy-always ahead of everyone and is currently in 2nd grade at Temecula Prep school. He is acedemically ahead but is very humble. We had our second son Tanner in Feb 2001. He is another smarty!!! But he is very quiet and sweet. He is now 4 years old and this is his last year home with me )O: I am enjoying every minute with my little sweet heart. In 2003, Todd and I flew to Moscow Russia to adopt our 1st little girl! Nadya at the time was 3 years old. She lived in an orphanage in Moscow, Russia. It was a horrible site to see how a lot of children are living in Russia. We brought her home after a heart wrenching 9 months of waiting and 3 trips to Russia on April 12, 2003. Going back in time, when Trevor was almost 2 years old I joined a karate/kickboxing facility were I started to train in kickboxing. After one month, the owner came up and asked if he could train me to become and instructor (10 years of cheerlead...Expand for more
ing paid off). So I started training and have been a kickboxing instructor every since. Exercise is my passion and now I teach other things like cycling and triathlon classes. Back to the kids, after one of my Sat., kickboxing classes I came home to Todd making a photo story for our adoption agency. He was scanning some photos and making a slide show for a banquet to raise money to bring Russia orphan children over from Russia to be hosted and hopefully adopted. He came across a 12 year old girl named Anastasia who was not marked as being hosted with a family. Todd fell in love with this little girl's smile. When I got home he showed me her picture and asked if we could host her during the summer program. I agreed. 2 months later we went to Russia to adopt her! Her adoption was very fast. She left America after she was hosted for 4 weeks by us. WE were in Russia 6 weeks later. Her situation in Russia was even worst than Nadya's was. She lived in a region of Russia called Vladimir. It was very poor and the kids had nothing. The kids were kicking around an old flat soccer ball and that is all they had. Everytime I go to Russia it makes me realize how lucky we have it as Amercia's. It makes me really mad when I see kids or adults for that matter complain about their lives here in America. WE are very spoiled and we need to be thankful for everyday we have. So yes, I have 4 kids!!! Never thought it possible. Never even dreamed of it. God has blessed our family tremendously. And to top it off, Todd and I just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary in August.
