Marylou's Story
I always wanted to be a dancer when I grew up. VERY difficult, but, it lead to my career working "behind the scenes" in music, TV and film.
I moved from San Diego to Los Angeles in 1966 to become a dancer. Rough way to make a living :-)) Managed to get a job at a major radio station, moved on, eventually landing at Warner Bros. where I worked in TV and film before finding my true love on the music side. I began there in 1976 in the new Black Music department and worked my way up to Vice President where I oversaw special projects, TV specials, working with several artists. The closest artist relationship I had was with Prince and enjoyed many years of touring with him and being involved in his most remarkable career. Other artists I was privileged to work with included Quincy Jones, Earth, Wind & Fire, George Benson, Al Jarreau, The Time, and many more. In 1995 I moved over to the Jazz department to oversea art...Expand for more
ist management, etc.
Throughout my life I have been very fortunate to have done quite a bit of travelling. I've managed to make it to all 7 continents and now find my favourite journeys are to remote places like the Antarctic and anywhere I can get close to nature and animals. I LOVE wildlife photography but enjoy seeing new cultures and meeting all sorts of people. LOVE cruising and have lost count of how many I've been on!
I took an early retirement in 2001 when AOL and Time/Warner merged and moved to Australia to start a new life in photography and graphic design which I still do. I have fun designing photo books and you can find out all about that on my website, memories4you
I don't imagine too many would remember me from high school as I always "marched to my own drummer". I do have wonderful memories of that time, especially in the choir.
Now I'm very curious to find out what life paths others have taken!
