Life Hello, I'm sure glad you have chosen to read my profile. I grew up on Broad Street when it was still Route 224. There were no freeways to Akron or Cleveland yet. About the only way to get to Akron was via Route 261. My grade school days were at Sacred Heart. The same group of girls and boys in the same classroom together for eight years. Now there's memories, not all of them good. Some of those friendships, though, go on forever. Did you spend Saturday afternoons at the Strand theater? Did you take Ballroom Dancing. Were you in a car or driving from Cook's to the RootBeer stand, then around town and start over again? Galley boy, Onion rings and a Coke. What about nickel day at Chippewa Lake Park? That was the place to be. I always loved to dance and spent many weekends at different places; the Civic Center downtown, Sharon Center Town Hall, The Barn at Chrystal Lake. After graduation it was Laconi's, Long's, the Pied Piper, the Sands on Manchester Road, The Draught House. We grew up, took on the responsibilities of being an adult; at least most of us did.
