Matt's Story
Life
So much has happened since high school, as one would expect after so many years. A few years after our graduation, I moved to the US West Coast, first to Salem, Oregon, and then in the Los Angeles area, for a couple of years each. In 1990, I went to India, where among other things, I spent a couple of years studying the beautiful Bengali language. While in India, I met my wife Chandra, to whom I've been married since 1993. We have a son, Eli, who was born in 1997, and who was bar mitzvah'd in 2011 at our congregation in Kentucky. College
I completed my BA with a concentration in Psychology from Charter Oak State College, and an MDiv from Asian Institute of Theology/ACTS Academy in South Asia. I completed my PhD in Intercultural Studies at Asbury Seminary in Kentucky in 2013.
Workplace
After many years in Asia, where I lectured and consulted on issues of cross-cultural communication and folk religion, I taught Intercultural Studies for four years at Oak Hills Christian College in Bemidji, MN, and have been teaching Intercultural Studies at Kingswood University in Canadian New Brunswick since 2016. I also teach online for Asbury Seminary.
