Matt's Story
Life
Ah life... the twists and turns, the ups and downs... and where does all that twisting and turning get us? Well let's see, if you twist first, then go up, turn, and then come back down I believe you have a pretzel. Which pretty much sums up my life in a nutshell. Wait, are there nuts in pretzels? oh well, just more of the confusion in my life LOL. Actually I'm doing pretty good now. The younger days were a bit hectic, but things have evened out over the years.
I joined the Navy right out of high school and spent 8 years on active duty in the supply/logistics field. I also got married young (Ha, me married?? yep) and unfortunately got divorced young as well (See previous "me married, HA!). I did end up with a beautiful daughter from that marriage though. She is 15 and quite the artist and webdesigner. Much better at art than I was at that age. Which also tends to help her in her webdesign.
After the Navy, I used my supply experience and have worked in a few warehouses in the area. I am currently a Supervisor at the Fred Me...Expand for more
yer Distribution Center in Clackamas. Also after repeatedly kicking my self in the behind for getting out of the Navy (I would have retired this past November) I went back into the reserves to finish my 20. Wow, how fortuitous that I should come back just as they are looking for people to send across the water! Yea for me (sniff, sniff... you can just smell the sarcasm)! So I'm heading off to Iraq for about a year and will be leaving on the 30th of this month.
Not much else to tell for me (life wise anyway)... I did try marriage one more time only this time I wasn't the one who decided I didn't like it (I ended the first one). Although I did, once again get a beautiful daughter. She just turned 5 and is growing like a weed. 5 and 15... whew, quite the spread, but now I do have a built in babysitter heheh
My life is good at this point... good job, good future, nice retirement to look forward to. I'm content but not so complacent as to stop looking to improve on what I have... I haven't yet seen the stop sign on the road of life.
