Matthew's Story
I graduated UM-Flint in 84. Most of you know I stuck around and coached baseball and football at FSW for a while... that was a great experience and now I have long lasting friendships from those young men I coached. I have worked in the computer industry for over 20 years. It's not my passion but I've made a nice living at it over the years. The tech bust hurt though... I was a computer consultant for years and worked at GM, Ford, Chrysler, I traveled the US, I have been to every 48 contiguous state. I still need to get to Hawaii and Alaska. I was in Connecticut when 9/11 happened so I couldn't fly home. I swiped my rental and drove home. Going over the G.W. Bridge was?... WEIRD and sad. I didn't get arrested for stealing the rental, I just dropped it off the next day. My best job ever was at Dow Chemical. Midland was a great time because I played all the sports and I lived on a lake and water skiied every day. That was cool. I married a woman while at UM-Flint, we had a son. My son lives with me today and his mom doesn't. ;) We divorced after 7 years of marriage but that is a good thing. My son is going to college, works and spending my money when he can. He's a great kid who doesn't like sports. Who figured? I still see a lot of people from FSW. Golf is a wonderful thing for that and I do a lot of golfing. My best friend and father, most who attended FSW know him cause he was there forever died 6 years ago of cancer. He was not only my dad but my best friend in the whole world. Dad and I officiated basketball together for forever and we played a lot of golf together over the years. I still miss him. My oldest sister loves to play golf now and that is cool... Dad would have loved to play golf with her and she's damn good too for just taking it up in the recent years. I have great neices and nephews... my siblings have done a wonderful job of having wonderful kids and I get to benefit cause I can spoil them and then leave! I think I am known as the "FunMaster" to them, or maybe that's the name I give myself for them to give me! ;) Either way, I have had a lot of fun with all of them. ey are tired of having me come over for dinner so much. I wanted 11 kids but only had 1. I didn't realize how much a woman plays into the whole kid equation? ;) I couldn't find one who wanted that many... or maybe it was that many WITH me. Not sure which it is. So I have a really special friend who gives me her Michigan basketball tickets each season. So I love to go to the games even though they are not good. I just hope when they get good, my friend doesn't change her mind on the tickets. ;) Today I work for a health organization in Ann Arbor, so it's convenient to get there for in-week BB games. So if anyone is interested, I am doing well. Oh, and I got my right hip replaced a few years back. That was a frickin miracle! I never realized I was in so much pain all my life until I didn't have it anymore. And of course, it made my golf game a lot better now! It made many things much better but I won't go into that. I have my health and plenty of people who love me. I am still single though but I guess that is more me then the women of the world... that's crap, it can't be me! :) What's up with the women of the world? I can't find one that loves to play golf all weekend, watch sports on TV all day when it rains, or camps, fishes and wants to have sex the rest of the time? I aint asking for much am I? Oh, and I wrote a book... It's a horrible book but it got published on Amazon called Blaney Park. If you have $20 bucks to throw away, buy it. Help me get my kid thru college. I wonder where this gets me in completing my profile? I was at 50% and I thought I needed to shore that up a bit. I hope no one really reads this stuff? Peace! tOl to you all... (read the book and you will know what tOl means) ;) If I have ever known you before and you want to say HI... do that. I love meeting people that I knew in HS. If I don't know who you are and you would want to meet me, feel free. I usually go to the Post Office to meet people it's better then the grocery store cause at the food place I ended up eating too much junk food. It hurt my manly figure! Oh and btw, I didn't know if you ate the food in the grocery store they still wanted you to pay for it when leaving? What's up with that?
