Life Since graduation from DHS in 85, I went to UT and then St. Eds in Austin to get a business degree and an MBA. In 90, I started a little leasing company in Houston with a partner and luckily did well. After 3 years I resigned and bought a back pack and an around the world plane ticket ($3600). These tickets only require that you go 1 way around the globe and do the trip in less than 12 months. I became addicted to traveling and spent the next couple of years trying to make my savings last while learning about new places and people. I eventually sold my car which bought me 8 months in France and Spain. Then in 1994 I returned with really long hair, $150, and a new perspective. I moved into a lakeside shack on family property on Medina Lake in the hill country outside of SanAntonio. The plan was to prepare the property for development. My father had just retired and he and I enjoyed working and living together on the property as we fixed it up. After 1 year of clearing cedar and battling with the local commisioners court on lot sizes, we wound up in a law suit that is STILL in the Texas Supreme Court as they are deciding if commissioner's courts should have the authority to make such determinations.
