Maureen's Story
Life (updated Jan, 2012)
I went into lab technology training right after Glendale, and have been working as a medical Technologist ever since -- I guess I must like it!! I have worked in Hamilton, London (Ontario), Edmonton, Nanaimo, and currently I work in Surrey, B.C. I live in Delta, B.C. with my husband and 1 dog. We moved here about 23 yrs. ago from Edmonton. Our son is 24 yrs. old and has finished one year at Capilano College in the jazz studies program, and has decided not to continue on with that degree. He is intending to get into the music recording business, and has taken a music recording/editing course to that end. He enjoys playing guitar and writing music. He is currently in 2 bands, and has a 'day job' in construction, and lives in Vancouver proper (who wants to live in the 'burbs' when you are 24?)
Jesse is the darker dog, a good ol' boy, who is a mixed breed with Lab, hound, and maybe some Shepherd (we are just guessing), as he was left as a puppy on a doorstep, and we were lucky enou...Expand for more
gh to adopt him at the age of 1yr. after he was pretty much out of the puppy stage and well trained by my husband's co-worker. We have just lost Jesse -- lots of good memories tho' -- he was almost 14 yr old. Our 2nd dog is Sacha, who we got from a shelter -- she's a hound dog (tri-colour) perhaps a treeing Walker Coonhound or maybe a foxhound. She looks like an oversized Beagle! She's very vocal & independant but a real sweetheart. Our 3rd dog (2nd after Jesse's passing) is Willow, also some kind of hound (a little smaller than Sacha). Her personality is very different than Sacha's tho' -- she is very mellow, quiet, and cuddly. A real sweetheart in her own way too!
Doggy update: we lost dear Willow to cancer Nov. 2011 and we still miss her! Sacha is now 'only dog', and enjoying every minute of it!
My husband Al, is due to retire this September, and if all goes well, I'd like to retire next year in April...that thought makes me smile :) :) We are looking forward to seeing Canada in a mini-motorhome!
