Maureen's Story
Hi All,
I celebrated 50 years in the religious life 9/15/12. Presently I am on mission in the Rio Grande Valley, S. TX. Two miles from the border of MX and in 25th year down here.. I minister for the Diocese of Brownsville, Media Resource
Center, San Juan, TX. I also do Social Work in MX three times weekly. We try to get sponsors for the MX children to go to and stay in school, even though they are public schools, They wear uniforms, need to purchase their drinking water, toilet paper, pay for exams and school utilities. pend on donations. Presently we have sponsors from different parts of the US and Canada. On our list there are approx, 250 children from Kinder to the University. and we have a long waiting list. Grades k-9 is $180.00 annually or $15.00 monthly and 10 - U. is $240.00 annually.
Those young adults in the U. have to work in order for the sponsors to supplement income for them.
I enjoy hearing from you but I cannot always respond as this is my office computer..
PS. I finished high school and graduated from Providence College, class of 1984, BA degree. Photo is not really me, it is the foundress of the Sisters of St. Dorothy. I haven't change much since high school except I have white hair not, basically the same style.
Blessings and thanks for remembering me.
