Maureen's Story
I only attended St. Marys K-2nd Grade while I lived in what was then Sylvan Knoll Apartments in Stamford near the Cove. We moved to Springdale when I was in 3rd grade.
I just remember making my First Holy Communion with my second grade class and I was given flowers to drop down the aisle as I walked towards the alter. I was very nervous and I dumped the whole basket of flowers out at the beginning of the walk, and then nearly fainted i...Expand for more
n fear of what would happen to me as a result of that infraction when I got to the end of " the walk". However, I did go on to become a teacher and then worked in educational nonprofit administration until recently, so I was not too badly scarred by the experience! I am looking forward to seeing any pictures of those days. I wish I could remember some of my classmate names! Perhaps if I had stayed in the school longer, it would be easier!
