Maureen Anne's Story
Life
Since graduation I was married to a real nut case, divorced him and re-married now for 13 years. My husband John is a wonderful, loving and caring man. We were married on Halloween of 1992. We had a great time and love to celebrate our anniversary with our families. I have a 23 year old step-daughter who attended OSU and graduated in March, 2005.
John and I have a part-time vinyl lettering home business. We letter everything from store fronts to race cars at Columbus Motor Speedway. Every Saturday from April to September you can find us there. We love NASCAR. We go to the NASCAR Brickyard 400 race every year in Indianapolis. I am the only female member of our pit crew and I love racing.
Our other main passion is Big 10 football. I work at OSU on campus, so OSU football is a mainstay in our house. Professional football on the other hand is a bone of contention in our home, as I am a Bengals fan and John is a Browns fan. We spend our Friday nights working at Westerville South's home football games with my father and all my brother-in-laws during the season. Yeah, I LOVE football!
John and I spend a great deal of our time with our 6 nieces and nephews as we are not able to have children of our...Expand for more
own. They range in age from 2 to 16 years. We spend a lot of time at soccer games, baseball games, basketball games, dance recitals, and family gatherings.
I live in Gahanna, just on the other side of Westerville. My parents still live in the home that I grew up in and my sisters and I all live within 5 miles of them. We see each other a great deal and we are all very close. We consider our family the most 'dysfunctional functional' family we know.
That's about all. I'd love to hear from you.
Workplace
Working at The Ohio State University is a dream come true for me. (GO BUCKS!!)I love being part of a huge campus and the atmosphere is incredible. I am the office administrator and textbook coordinator for the Occupational Therapy and the Respiratory Therapy Divisions. I work for 11 Professors and am responsible for 60 Graduate and 125 Undergraduate students. I love working here. The faculty always appreciates me and the work I do. I had the honor of being awarded Employee of the Month for the month of September, 2004 for the entire OSU Medical Center. I was shocked and very honored. Unlike other companies I have worked for in the past, I feel very much needed and respected by my peers here.
