Maurice Hegwood:  

Life BIO - Weldon Maurice Hegwood After graduating from Central High, I went on to Mississippi State and majored in electrical engineering. I hated to leave Mississippi, but unfortunately there were very few electrical engineering jobs in Mississippi other than at the Mississippi Power and Light. I wasn't interested in that field, so I ended up accepting a job with Westinghouse Defense Center in Baltimore, Maryland in 1961. I helped design and manage the design of defense systems for the next 35 years. My area of specialty was display systems. I met my wife in the mid 60's. She had just graduated from Wake Forest and was working at Westinghouse for the Summer until she could start teaching in the fall. We were married in 1967 and have 2 sons, Wilson Holbrook and Weldon Harrison. They are both working for the FBI. We raised our family in Crofton, Maryland and lived there from 1968 to 2001. It is close to Annapolis. I retired in Jan. 1996 at the age of 57. To celebrate, my wife and I headed to Europe for a month. We started in Paris, and then moved on to the southern and western coast of England. We had covered a lot of other areas in Britain on an earlier trip with the two boys. We had a great time.
