Maurice's Story
Life
I practice law in Downtown Los Angeles, CA. I am the Chairman of the Covina Cultural Arts Advisory Commission, Vice-President of the Covina Library Board,member of the Covina Gang & Graffiti Task Force, volunteer on the Covina Christmas Parade Committee and Miss Covina Pageant Committee,literacy tutor in the Second Start Literacy Program,and memberships in several organizations, including Japan America Society. I serve as a judge pro tem, arbitrator and mediator in the courts. I volunteer in several church ministries: lector, social gospel, frontier days committee, and health ministry. A few times per year, I teach courses such as small claims court self-representation workshops.

the private and public sector and independent legal assignments for artists, municipalities, businesses and other clients in substantive areas which encompass dangerous condition of public property, employment and labor law, real property, contracts, appellate practice,and landlord-tenant among other fields.
As a member of the Covina Chamber of Commerce, I serve on the Economic Development Council and Police and Fire Committee.
I follow sports, attending Lakers and Kings games and hold season tickets to the local Arena Football League franchise the LA Avengers.
I travel when I can, having visited in recent years, Europe and the Caribbean, particularly enjoying Paris, the CIty of Lights.
I originated Covina's Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Celebration, act as a master of ceremonies at the annual blues festival Bluesapalooza and recite poetry at public occasions.
