Mauricio's Story

Life Ok, I'll give you the highlights. If I tell you everything here whats the fun in catching up later? Sooo, I recently watched a tape of a play I was a part of in HS (Man of La Mancha) that was very important to me, to my life. Watching the tape and seeing so many faces from the past opened the flood gates. Laughter filled my heart with some great memories of these incredible people. Some touched me so deeply while I knew them that seeing them again brought tears to my eyes. My mind reeled wondering what everyone was up to these days. I began to think of all the life experiences I've had since then. Funny how the paths we choose mold us into the souls we are today. So many decisions and unexpected turns but through it all we have our families and friends, if only memories of them. I have a few tattoos these days but there's one in particular I need to talk about, my first one in fact. It came about entirley because of something said to me by someone in HS. You spoke the words to me standing in the main hall by the lockers one day. I didn't realize it at the time but in that moment you impacted my life. Through your words and the grace of God I am proud to be the man I am today. I doubt if you remember the words you spoke or even that you spoke them that day but I have carried them in my soul ever since. The tattoo is lettering on my right arm that reads "ECHO". You made a statement about me that day but the key word was "echo". The words that came from your lips have held true. Your words gave meaning to my life. I've always hoped that I would be able to thank you in person. I realize that this is unlikely so I will post ...Expand for more
it here in hopes that they will reach you. I will never forget your voice that day and I do not have the words to express my gratitude so I will simply say this...Thank you Mari. Okay, enough with the drama. I did marry back in 1994 and have two incredible daughters (10 and 6). I have recently divorced after 10 years of marriage. No need for sympathy, my ex and I get along better now than we ever did while married. In fact I am glad to say that we are the absolute best of friends. I'm a cop these days, a Sheriff's Deputy actually. I work the grave yard shift, drive a patrol car, ride my beat, catch bad guys etc etc. More on that later, point is this: Between odd hours, training, constant court dates and life in general my schedule can be hectic at times. If you email me and I dont respond right away, hang tight, I swear I will as soon as I sit down to check my mail. The pic I have posted is a few months old. I cannot post anything more current at the moment because I waited 31 years to catch the chicken pox (thanks to my daughter)and I am currently, ummmm, spotted. How I grew up in Brooklyn and never caught the chicken pox is beyond me. They suck as an adult, let me tell ya. I've grown my hair out again since then. I tend to shave it of during the hot Kansas summers. I've gone on long enough. If anyone sees this please respond. I miss you all and would love to have a second to say "Hey, been thinking of you!". I hope you are all doing well and if not I hope I can at least have the oppurtunity to share a few words with you to help you through whatever may be troubling you. Looking forward to hear from, God Bless!!!! Moe
