Ronald's Story
On graduating, worked for a year in a couple of nothing jobs, until I went into the Navy. I spent 13 1/2 years in the Navy, the first 2 years in school for electrical training and then in the nuclear power program. Following that I served on 5 submarines, traveling around the US and a few foreign countries. I had settled in Connecticut while in sub school and returned here from Hawaii when I decided to get out. Went into the Navy Reserve where I spent almost 15 years before they made me retire. Worked in the nuclear industry for a while and met my wife. We were together for 29 years, married for almost 26 when she died of cancer in December 2008. I'm still trying to come to terms with her passing. I have 3 great kids- Daniel is 30, Molly is 25 and Jeremy is 24. They still live at home and are what keeps me grounded. I retired from Marlin Firearms Co. as the maintenance foreman with 20 year...Expand for more
s of service. I am an avid motorcyclist, riding Harley-Davidsons. I am a Life Member of Harley Owners Group (HOG)and the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and a member of the Connecticut Motorcyle Riders Association (CMRA). I also belong to the Patriot Guard Riders (PGR) a group that escorts our military for funerals, deployment or homecoming. I had a knee replace on Dec 15th and am working on recovery so I can ride my motorcycle again in the spring. I hope to take many trips this year, I've got relatives and friends to visit from Maryland, North Carolina, Florida as well as closer, like Long Island. I also plan on going to Sturgis, SD and Missouri. So I hope to catch up with as many friends and relatives as possible. This is a shameless request for invitations to stay over. Thats pretty much my story up til now. Keep in touch or get in touch. Look forward to hearing from many people.
