Erica's Story
I'm at akire88 on google's mail, if this thing will let that info through. Welp, moved to Illinois after hubby got his MFA and landed a a job teaching theatre in a college up here. So I live in the big fat middle of a ridiculously enormous corn/soybean field and have no decent Mexican food for miles and miles. (<---read: absolute travesty).
I'm working at the Illinois State University in the Digitization Center, which is pretty fun, actually. Yay for getting paid to play with Photoshop n'stuff. Illinois seems like NE TX, just without the accents and trees that make me sneeze. And with more snow and rain than I'd expect in Great Britain, for Pete's sake.
What do people always want to know? Hrm. I have no children (YAY!), and I'm soooo ok with that. I like other peoples' kids all right, if I'm forced to deal with 'em, 'cause I can hand 'em right back ...Expand for more
when they've messed themselves or start crying. :-D I have two fur-babies instead that suit me perfectly - a sweet 16 year old biddy of a calico cat, Blythe, and a 4 year old flame-tip cream Siamese (turd boy and love of my life!), Fintan.
I'm still the biggest, most unapologetic geek on the planet. I play an online RPG game (not WoW, though. Yes, I even rebel against geekish conformity!) and usually play some computer game of some sort every single night of my life. I honestly don't feel that I've changed much at all, personality wise. I still commonly use what other people think of as "big words" in my every day speech... because to me it IS every day speech! It still surprises me when I have to give definitions. Anyway, yes, I think I'd still be considered too anti-social, too loud, too blunt, too sarcastic, too pale and too non-conformist - go me!
