Carmen's Story
Life
It's good I have two wonderful kids. My 15yr old son Carleton and my 4 yr old daughter Christina. I have finally found the love of my life. We were married on 16th of August 2008.
School
I don't remember having a big crush on anyone. I don't think people even remember who I was. I wasn't a jock, brain or popular. I just hung out on the outskirts watching all the drama.
College
I have an AA from Peninsula College and a BA in History from Western Washington. After high school I want back to my home state.
Workplace
I've done so many jobs since leaving high school. Rec Assistant, lab assistant, line cook, cashier, baker, daycare teacher, computer tech support, radio operator, computer support supervisor, Tier 1 computer support and now I work as the Administrative Assistant for the Fire Chief at Navy Region Northwest in Keyport, WA.
Military
Boot camp was a blast. I went there in March of 95 a month after my Dad passed away from lung cancer. I spent 3 months there and it was fun. After Great Mistakes, I mean Great Lakes, I went to San Diego for computer training I spent 4 months there. Let me tell you TJ was a fun place to go with lots of drinking and early morning runs back ...Expand for more
across the boarder to make it back to the base before morning muster. After that I spent 3 years stationed in Naples, Italy. That is were my Son was born and where I got to see history. Rome, Pompii, Pisa and all the other little towns inbetween. I spent 6 weeks in Bosnia, Sarajavo with a 9mm, flack jacket, helmet and combat boots. Yes it was fun. Then I went to a ship for a year where I visited, Japan, Darwin Austrila, Korea, Guam, and Hawaii. I ended back in Silverdale Washington after that where I spent the rest of my enlistment. What a ride and I'd do it all again if I could.
I am now a Naval Reservist working out of Bangor as the LPO of my Det and I just made Chief!
A new chapter is now begining, I'm on my way to Kuwait. I am in training and will be in country for 270 days.
I made it back alive. Very few physical or emotional scars. Very lucky on that part. Spent a little time in Iraq and Qatar but mostly in Kuwait. 120 in the shade was NOT fun and I don't plan on doing it again, EVER!!!!
I went back to my previous job working for the Federal Fire deparment as the Admin Tech, yes that is pretty much a secretary but it is nice to have a job where I'm not in charge for a change.
