Meigan's Story
Life
Alas, I have figured out what I want to be when I grow up.....a kid again.
I spent a significant amount of my young adult life in college trying to figure out what my purpose in life was. I literally became a professional student.
I left Oliver and went to Calif. Univ. of PA where I received my B.A. in Communications. Wow, I thought I wanted to be the first Black Barbara Walters. After learning that I was camera shy, I moved to Atlanta and earned my MPA from Atlanta University -- I just knew I wanted to be a public servant & work in government...and so I did. I worked for the State of New York and it didn't take me long to figure out that I don't like working with rude people and paper all day. So, I resorted back to my safe place -- school.

my Ph.D. in Int'l Affairs & Development -- not because I wanted to be involved in global politics or make a significant contribution to world affairs. I wanted to be a doctor -- but I was afraid of blood...and so the Doctor of Philosophy degree was the next best thing.
I am a doctor...I'm back to working with rude people and paper...I am a professor and my students, they call me....Dr. Fields.
Oh, along the way I married, had a wonderful son who is nearing teenage years, got divorced and most recently, I got engaged... for all of 48 hours -- whatever will I do? Go hide out in school I guess...can I be a kid again?
