Melanie's Story
Life
I enrolled in some college courses in 1991, then I did it all "bass-ackwards"; I got pregnant, fell in love, then got married to the best husband ever!!! I have a son who is fantastic and am extremely happy with my life. I joined classmates.com because I have always wondered what everyone I used to know was up to and they are doing now. I guess I could mention that I worked as a waitress during the rest of the 1980's until I met my man in 1991! I could also tell you all that I've had a lot of back problems stemming from my Scoliosis and had my fourth surgery to fix the rods in my spine in 1998 and they screwed up somehow and I had to relearn to walk and stuff. It took me six months to recover from that! I can no longer work due to my debilitating back pain so am a housewife but am still very happy. I write, do crosswords, read a...Expand for more

School
Well, let's see...the teacher who most inspired me was Mrs. Johnson. She was my grade seven teacher and she was the only one who showed me any kind of compassion or understanding after my Scoliosis surgery then! The kids were mean to me, they made fun of my back and my back brace, they were just plain mean but that teacher, she was so kind, so patient and such a wonderful person that she made it all worthwhile! I never could have survived grade 7 without her! My biggest crush was Shane Taylor...I was such a fool for him...but oh well...! My happiest memory of Simcoe Street School...Hmmmm...have to think on that one.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Kevin B., because he was so special to me.
