Melanie's Story
I was born Melanie Diane Martinez and moved to Atascadero in the first grade where I attended school till graduation in '68. I think of my classmates as friends and almost family really. I think of many over the years and have had the privilege of having close contact with several.
I married Phillip Rose in 1970 who was a soldier boy just returned from Viet Nam in 69. He had enlisted in the ARMY for 3 years and had volunteered for Vietnam. This past year he has been fighting pancreatic cancer from exposure to Agent Orange in VN and also Korea in 1970. What a soldier he is in his fight back to health! Phill passed away on Jan. 8, 2015..what a good man he was.
We have 3 children all married and with children of their own. Our family has seen the struggles that every family has nowadays and we love them all dearly.

ave recently moved to Seneca, SC and am enjoying remodeling a home. I love to travel and hop into my
Dodge Durango and have done a little bit of driving this year. 13,000 miles since I bought it in March.
Learning my camera which has wifi. I share a lot on FB in the way of pictures since I have several friends who enjoy that. Not everyone does. I do.
I am making new friends here slowly and hope to do some travels after first of year.
Being single is a whole new experience and I'm adjusting ok for having been married for 45 years to a great guy. I miss him but understand my life is still going on. Have family here in Seneca now and am so enjoying them.
I am looking forward to new adventures and recently just enjoyed 4 days in Atlanta. So much to see and do.
