Melinda's Story
Wow, my story, huh? Well, I am still writing it! Aren’t you? You should be! I still look in the mirror and say, “Wait...who is that middle aged woman? I just turned 30 last year...didn’t I?” ...nope! I will be 55 in June of 2021. I am grateful for every single day, every person, every experience. Many of you knew I was in Foster Care all throughout High School. It’s an unnerving, and very strange, feeling to be a perpetual guest in someone’s house. But, I was so grateful for that, too. I never would have graduated, never would have become the person I am today, without every single one of those experiences. Again; SO GRATEFUL! I saw a post that said someone saw me as , “Admired”. om Puyallup High School, and I was glad I was able to graduate. I received multiple scholarships through a foster care program, and for my accomplishments in English Literature. I was one of those weirdos that LOVED SCHOOL! LOL Anyway, here’s what almost 55 years of life has taught me—hold on tightly to the little things, because when you look back? You learn the little things were truly the enormous things that you forgot to pay attention to. Always treat people with kindness. Don’t judge people! You think you have it rough? There’s always someone suffering more than you could ever know. Believe that you can, because the moment you say, “maybe”, you’re already fifty percent closer to failure. Love with your whole heart. You WILL BE HURT. But, you will also know how to heal and survive. It’s worth the climb, people! I hope to connect with old friends. I hope to find new, old friends. I hope to enrich someone’s life, besides my own. Please don’t hesitate to hit me up with a hello. I would be enormously grateful for that!! Blessings and good fortune, my friends! Always!
