I have my own marketing consulting company, Melworks Inc.and I'm also a freelance writer on women's issues and film. Prior to that, I was the Executive Director of Brand Atlanta (the city's tourism/economic development initiative, reporting to Mayor Shirley Frankilin). I have been married for 28 years to Bert Roughton, the Managing Editor of the Atlanta Journal Consitituion (the city's major daily newspaper). I have two sons, Christian who is 16 and a Junior at the Paideia School and Bert III, who just graduated from New York Law School and is working in the Atlanta Fulton County Public Defender's Office and waiting for results from his bar exam!
