Melissa's Story
My Pets,
I'm currently owned by a very happy 10 year old American Bulldog. On Easter Sunday my 21 yr old cat passed away.I had to make the difficult decision to put my 13 year old Doberman to sleep May 6,2005. My last horse died last March of 2004 and I hope someday to own another, but right now am happy with my dog.
My Life
I've been married twice, single for over 25+ years and have no children by choice. I raised Arabians for nearly 20+ years. In 1984 I found a lump in my right breast which was cancer. I'm proud to say I've been cancer free since. I have taken a new route in my life as well. As of Feb of this year I am again a student! I decided that I needed a new career and have started on the path of becoming a Medical Biller and Coder. It has been interesting to say the least. This time around I am proud to say I've not missed a day of school. Right now I have a 4.0 GPA, but the class I'm taking now is very tough and that may go away. I'm very happy to say that for the most part the brain cells are still firing or at least the majority of them.

did my externship(filing like I didn't know how to do that already) and am now a certified biller and coder. Still no job, but am lucky in that I was contacted by a former employer to let me know I am qualified for their pension plan. Not much, but it's better than nothing at all. Mom is my main focus and after a fainting event at a local farmers market I feel a full time job for myself is out of the question. Nice thing is I'm slowly working on certain things that need to be repaired around the house. Have come up with some interesting meals for us and have been able to work on my crochet work with hopes of selling it.
I am now my Mom's fulltime caregiver. She has had a couple of more fainting events the last one in April 2014 that put her into the hospital for 2 days. She has short term memory loss. I am there to make sure she also eats healthy meals. It is not an easy task either, but she did many things to help me over the years it is time for me to return the favor. On Sept 21, 2014 my Mom passed away. It has been very hard for me as she was my heart.
