Melissa Chester:  

Short and sweet: graduated from AHS, went to UB. Met to-be husband on the first day of school. While at UB, became a little sister in Sigma Phi Epsilon. Involved in several clubs. Majored in Political Science. Dad died while I was a junior. Graduated in 1990 and had to choose between St. John's Law School and CUNY. Chose CUNY because of its emphasis on community service. Graduated in 1993, passed NYS Bar Exam on first try. Married 1994, moved to Charlotte, NC a few months later. Had a law practice in South Carolina for a while; decided I hated it. Worked at several different places, couldn't find my niche. Found a second life as a groupie--yes, a groupie. I traveled all over the US (and went to the UK also) with Def Leppard. Too many stories to tell--boy did I see a lot of things. Also did a bit of groupie-ing with Metallica. I will always love the guys in those groups. Went and got an associate's degree later on in Motorsports Marketing (hey, in Charlotte, motorsports was a great occupation). Through that, found some great friends and contacts and had a lot of fun meeting some great racing people. Fought depression for years--found out after tons of soul searching that it was the marriage that was causing the problem. Got married out of fear, not out of love.
