Melissa's Story
My life....what is my life story?!? I was married for a little over 27 years to a wonderful man, Charlie Echols. He passed away on December 9th, 2015. I am not working. Have not worked for the past 10 yrs due to medical issues. I am in the process of filing for disability. I have a daughter, Morgan, who is 30 yrs old....she moved back in with me after her dad died. She has been a blessing to me. My husband and I lost a son, Jordan, at birth on Dec. 24th, 1988. We lost another baby when Morgan was 3 yrs old. My husband worked at Baker Hughes for 23+ years. Since graduation I went to RSU for a year. Dropped out and began working odd jobs. Worked at several daycare centers. Agape daycare the longest till I got double pneumonia and had to quit. Never went back to work after that. We worked at an animal sanctuary for a few yrs. Worked mostly with reptiles but worked with larger mammals as well. Big cats, bears, etc. It was fun for awhile then became too m...Expand for more
uch work and too stressful. Although working with alligators was fun and exciting. We lived in Adair for a few yrs, Pryor for a couple (that is where my husband passed away), after that my daughter and I moved back to Claremore to be near family. Pryor was just too painful to stay. I am trying to start dating again. Not easy finding someone you think is honest and trustworthy. My brother passed away 6 months after my husband did. So i have just my sister and my brother's family now. I have extended family but they live in different states. My life is not exciting. I am dealing with alot of health issues right now. No health insurance currently so it makes things more difficult. I enjoy horseback riding, swimming, going for walks, float trips, fishing, concerts, plays, some operas, hanging out with family and friends, barbecues, bonfires, camping, car races, and lots of other stuff. We live a quiet life. It's good to be back in Claremore. That's it for now.
