Melissa's Story
Life
My husband and I live in Eastern Massachusetts for several years now. I have an online business called SingPraise Antiques and Vintage Collectibles. It's great working from home and I do pretty well as long as I work the business. My husband, Bill, is a welding inspector. We are very much in love with Israel and have visited several times and have taken groups there on Biblical, historical and geographical tours. My husband volunteers in the Israeli army every year or so for one month. He works on tanks and whatever they need. He loves it. It is such a beautiful place and we would someday love to live there. He speaks Hebrew really well, and I know I could find my way around, order food, and have minimal small talk. But Israelis speak very quickly so it can get hard for me.
I sang for a few years after High School and Bay Path in "top 40" bands in NE and eastern coast area. I had the opportunity to perform with the band as far away as Greenland, which is beautiful in its own right, but very cold!! Our band was there for two months and I don't think I have the need to ever return there!
I found the Lord when I was 28 after years of internal turmoil and searching for meaning and courage. There is nothing more wonderful than having life, even with its challenges and trials, make sense now. There are no words to describe the wonderfulness of knowing the Lord. This life change led to my meeting and marrying Bill. Bill and I are devoted to serving the Lord. We believe Yeshua is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life" and the promised Messiah as written in the scriptures. We are more than glad about that.

otten, smart, and a big part of the family. I sing, dance and act crazy with them and speak to them as kids. I'm too loud and I'm sure the neighbors are conjuring up a plan to have me commited. Isn't it nice to be older and not have to worry about what other people think!! Anyway, my dogs....McBean is Poogle Schnoodle (Poodle, Snauzer, Beagle, I have a Shih Tzu we named Falafel and she's a riot! Also have a Springer Spaniel named Kessler Margaret (Kessie) named for my mother. No horses at present, but still a passion. It's been a while, and I know I can still ride and would do fine once I was on the horse; it's being able to get on that might be a problem.
In addition to singing, I've had several different careers over the years including riding instructor, secretary (ugh-20 years of it), office manager, church admin. assitant and preschool teacher. I made a lot of friends at my places of work and lived in several cities which had its pros and cons.
In addition to working on my site and selling, I do my fair share of online buying and am quite an internetaholic....I collect Barbie dolls which may sound silly to some, but I had no idea how valuable the vintage ones are and how beautifully crafted the new Silkstones are. WOW I still have mine from when they first came out in the 60's. It is so much fun hunting for those early treasures (and also selling them as some of the dolls and a lot of the clothes are worth a fortune).
We love our home - a 100 year old Antique Victorian Colonial which is such a refuge after years in noisy apartments.
The years have flown by...........if you're visiting my profile, thank you, I wish you the best.
God bless!
