Melissa's Story
Life
Enjoyed escaping from the stultifying atmostphere I felt at Southwest High in 1964. Taught school in Kansas City for 22 years but quit in 1990 when the magnet school concept became the court mandated "taste de jour." Opened my own business doing communications management for high tech / IT companies. Dropped out of church for many years but dropped back in during the last decade. rs young). Live in Kansas City (yes, the actual city -- not the 'burbs) still. Been married for 30 years to a very intersting person who is defiantly not the Bingham/Southwest/UMKC 1960's type.
Workplace
After teaching 22 years in the Kansas City School District (Southeast and Paseo High Schools), I opened my own company to do Communications Management for IT and IS companies. I'm married, have two dogs, and live within five miles of where I grew up.
